Embark on a captivating journey with John Cilio as he explores the fascinating history and beginnings of America's youngest national holiday. Juneteenth, the 11th national holiday and the first of the 21st century, is officially recognized in all 50 states, with Texas leading the charge by making it a state-paid holiday.

Juneteenth, a blend of June and nineteenth, commemorates the significant events of June 19, 1865, when the Federal Government declared the emancipation of the last enslaved African-Americans in the Confederate South. Originally called Jubilee Day, Juneteenth is a joyous celebration of the ideals of freedom and equality for all. Join us in commemorating this momentous day and the promising future it signifies for our country.
