Program Description

Event Details

The Fortunoff Video Archive for Holocaust Testimonies emerged from a grassroots effort of survivors in the New Haven area to document their stories on video, starting in the late 1970s. The archive’s origins in the survivor community led to the development of an interview method that centers on the voice of the witness. This conversation will focus on how the Fortunoff Archive’s ethos and interview methodology shape its current work with educators. Lindsey Rossler (King School) will share examples, teaching materials, and student projects from the Art of Listening curriculum she created in partnership with the Archive.

Lindsey Rossler has been teaching for 19 years and is currently a history teacher at King School in Stamford, Connecticut. She holds an MA from Teachers College at Columbia University, a BA in History and Political Science from Emory University, and a Certificate in Gifted Education from the University of Connecticut. She teaches World History, Human Rights, and Leadership. Lindsey is also a DEIB coordinator and the Director of Student Talent Development.
